An extraction and review pipeline that turns permits, inspection reports and invoices into validated structured data.
The challenge
Thousands of permits, inspection reports and vendor invoices arrived as PDFs and scans each month. Analysts re-keyed the data into spreadsheets, which was slow, error-prone and delayed compliance reporting.
Our approach
We built an evaluation set from 600 real documents before writing any production code, defined the accuracy target with the operations team, and designed a review queue so people stay in control of every low-confidence field.
The solution
Documents are ingested automatically, classified, and processed by an extraction model with validation rules. Fields under the confidence threshold go to a reviewer with the source highlighted. Approved data flows into the company's reporting warehouse, with a full audit trail.
